Burned surface texture

Its all bout the detail. When a RIBA architect specifies Millworks® for their own self-build house, you know the details will be sharp. Mokuzai® specified in two charred finishes, with contrasting natural timber make this project stand out with style.

Mokuzai® burned is based on ‘Yakisugi’, perfected by Millworks® is a traditional Japanese technique of charring timber to add style and enhanced texture.

In this project, heavily burned boards have been used to the rear; burned and brushed for the front elevation. Contrasting natural/uncoated Larch have been manufactured for cladding and door components by Millworks to give a slick and stealth appearance.
