Benefits of BCLarch®
BCLarch® Grading
Millworks Grade B/C
Millworks B/C Grade timber features a blend of clear, semi-clear and knotty boards and includes timber with Millworks A – C grading characteristics. This grade arises from the natural cutting process and the way the timber “falls” from the saw, as such allow for some visible knots and irregularities on the shown face.
This grade is a practical choice for projects where a balance of aesthetics and natural wood features is desired.
Similar to BS 1186-3 Classes 1 to 3.

BCLarch® Applications
BCLarch® is a highly adaptable timber, perfect for both residential and commercial external cladding projects. Renowned for its natural durability, it resists rot and fungal decay, ensuring long-lasting performance. Whether left untreated for a naturally weathered appearance or finished to preserve its rich, warm tones, BCLarch® combines sustainability with aesthetic appeal, making it a reliable choice.

BCLarch® is a dense timber, making it highly resistant to wear and tear and well-suited for fencing applications. Natural oils and resins provide excellent protection against rot, decay, and insect damage. The timber’s straight grain and occasional knots lend character and texture, giving a natural appearance that harmonises with outdoor spaces and creates cohesive garden design.

BCLarch® Finishes
Surface Textures
In addition to our standard planed finish, surface texture can be added to create accentuated depth to the timber grain. Surface textures are recommended when coatings are applied to improve performance and enable enhanced adhesion and longevity.
Factory Coatings
In the correct conditions, BCLarch® will weather to a silver-grey, if left untreated. Although naturally durable, BCLarch® can be finished for protection against the elements. Millworks offers a range of factory coatings that serve both decorative and protective purposes, producing consistent results with a range of aesthetic options to suit your project.
Fire Treatment
FRX fire retardant can be pressure-impregnated into BCLarch® under ISO-controlled conditions to meet national Building Regulations for Euroclass B or C compliance.

Fixings systems for BCLarch®
MillFix® Screw System
Using the correct fixings is critical to the performance of timber cladding. MillFix screws deliver a clean and secure fixing for face fix and secret fix profiles ensuring optimal performance of the timber and factory coatings. Due to the movement class of BCLarch®, face-fixing is advisable, especially on wider boards.
