SURFACE TEXTURES
Millworks® offers a range of surface textures, in addition to our standard planed finish, that create accentuated depth to the timber grain. Depending on the wood species different surface finishes and textures can be achieved. Please contact one of our team for the options available for your timber species of interest.
Surface textures are recommended when coatings are applied to improve performance and enable enhanced adhesion and product longevity. For best coating results Milltex® surface finish is recommended to keep your project looking good over time.
Planed
Our standard surface texture – boards are run through the planing mill to create a smooth finish.
Fine-sawn
Cut using a fine saw, this finish provides a smoother surface to the wood.
Milltex®
Milltex creates a uniform surface texture by roughing the surface of each board. We recommend this finish for optimal performance and durability of coatings.
Brushed
An accurate, high-quality wire brushing process enhances the natural structure of wood. The brushing process makes the grain of the wood clearly visible and with some timber species, heavy brushing can provide a flameless alternative finish to burning (Yakisugi).
Millworks® offer in-house advanced factory coating systems in collaboration with industry leading paint manufacturers. After extensive research and development, Millworks® use innovative technology in our state of the art finishing line which produces consistent coating results for any project.
Specifically manufactured stainless-steel fixings, available in secret-fix, face-fix or clip systems, are designed for all Millworks® timber cladding and decking profiles. Our fixings ensure long service life for best performance of the timber, surface textures and coatings in any location.
