No coatings are required, making it the ideal choice for a long-lasting, natural grey aesthetic. Resistant to rot and insect attack, Accoya Color Grey has a lifespan of 60 years and combines the outstanding durability of Accoya wood with the beauty of a timeless finish.

Benefits of Accoya® Color Grey

Dimensional stability

Accoya’s acetylation process replaces the timber’s natural hydroxyl groups with water-repellent acetyl groups. This makes the wood highly resistant to moisture absorption, improves its dimensional stability, and boosts its biological durability, ensuring that the timber remains durable in all conditions.

Coloured throughout

Following the acetylation process, the newly produced Accoya wood undergoes an additional dyeing process that uses organic, non-toxic pigment. This means that Accoya Color Grey is consistently coloured from surface to core, ensuring that even if the timber is cut, sanded, or scuffed, the rich grey tone remains intact. No need for additional coatings or re-staining.

Low maintenance

Designed for a long lifespan with minimal upkeep, Accoya Color Grey is coloured throughout the core, so it will never peel or wear off unlike surface coatings. Thanks to its exceptional stability, the timber resists movement, shrinking, and warping. Routine cleaning is all that’s needed to keep it looking great.

Warranty

Accoya Color Grey comes with robust warranties: 50 years above ground and 25 years below ground. These warranties reflect its exceptional durability and ability to withstand all climates, providing peace of mind.

Sustainability

Accoya Color Grey is 100% recyclable, non-toxic, and sustainably sourced. The product is FSC® and Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold and has been designed with its full lifecycle in mind, promoting reuse, minimal environmental impact, and safe return to nature or re-entry into manufacturing cycles.

Millworks Grade A

Millworks A Grade timber is a high-quality grade, featuring primarily clear flat-sawn boards that showcase unique and interesting grain patterns. This grade is characterised by long, clear sections of timber with limited isolated defects, such as small knots and irregularities.

This grade is perfect for projects requiring a refined and elegant finish.

Accoya® Color Grey Applications

The acetylation process gives Accoya® Color Grey an exceptionally high durability class and makes the timber resistant to rot and decay, ensuring a long lifespan. Its dimensional stability ensures minimal movement, even in the harshest weather conditions, preventing warping and shrinking across elevations. Accoya Color Grey timber cladding is available in a wide range of profiles with custom sizing available upon request.

Accoya® Color Grey decking combines lasting performance with a beautiful aesthetic. Heat build-up can be a significant problem on patios and decks. Tests with thermogram images showed that Accoya wooden decks stay pleasantly cool and perform significantly better than other materials such as composite boards. Accoya Color’s dimensional stability means that the decking will resist warping and stay smoother for longer, perfect for barefoot use and safe for children and pets.

Surface Textures

In addition to our standard planed finish, Accoya Color Grey can be manufactured with a MillSawn finish. A twist on a traditional fine sawn surface texture, MillSawn increases definition and adds interest for a rustic, natural aesthetic.

Fire Treatment

Accoya Color is not currently treatable to EN 14195 reaction to fire standards. However, it remains a reliable and high-quality choice for projects where fire treatment is not required. For projects where fire performance is specified, Millworks offers a range of alternative timber species that can be treated accordingly.

Secret Clip System

The Secret Clip System is made up from precision grooved boards, coated aluminium rails and pre-spaced clips. Screw-free and fast to fit, it can be attached to walls, ceilings and flat surfaces, providing a seamless finish and consistent alignment between the boards.
