ThermoWood® Pine
ThermoWood® Pine is sourced from carefully selected Nordic forests and produced by International ThermoWood® Association members. The timber undergoes a natural heat treatment that permanently improves its dimensional stability and durability without chemical additives. The result is a versatile material with reduced movement, improved resistance to decay and excellent long‑term performance.
ThermoWood® Pine is a dependable choice for projects that demand durability, stability and visual warmth – perfect for exterior cladding, interior panelling and outdoor decking where it delivers consistent results across residential and commercial projects.
Benefits of ThermoWood® Pine
ThermoWood® Pine Grading
Millworks Grade C
Millworks C Grade timber features prominent knots, grain variations, and other natural characteristics that are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the board. These visual characteristics are not a reflection of durability or quality. This grade is ideal for projects that wish to showcase the timber’s natural beauty with visible grain pattern and texture.
Knots are unlimited in this grade and are essential to certain species for board structure especially when thermal modified.

ThermoWood® Pine Applications
ThermoWood® Pine is a sustainable and durable choice for both modern and traditional architectural designs, offering a balance of long-lasting performance and beauty. The thermal modification process alters the wood’s structure, making it resistant to rot, fungi, and insect attacks without the need for chemical treatments. This modification process creates a timber with enhanced stability making ThermoWood® Pine our preferred choice for factory coated external cladding.

The eco-friendly thermal modification process relies solely on heat and steam, making ThermoWood® Pine safe for indoor and outdoor use. Its non-toxic nature means its family-friendly, making it a great choice for residential applications. ThermoWood’s thermal properties help regulate indoor temperatures, enhancing energy efficiency and the timber’s smooth finish and warm tones help to create cosy, inviting interiors.

Millworks ThermoWood® Pine decking is a robust and dimensionally stable solution for outdoor spaces. The thermal modification process reduces the wood’s ability to absorb water, ensuring ThermoWood® Pine lasts longer than untreated wood in garden settings. As a result of the thermal modification process, the timber does not secrete resin even in high temperatures making it a practical and attractive choice for long-lasting garden decks.

ThermoWood® Pine Finishes
Surface Textures
In addition to our standard planed finish, surface texture can be added to create accentuated depth to the timber grain. Surface textures are recommended when coatings are applied to improve performance and enable enhanced adhesion and longevity.
Factory Coatings
In the correct conditions, ThermoWood® Pine will weather to a silver-grey, if left untreated. Although naturally durable, ThermoWood® Pine can be finished for protection against the elements. Millworks offers a range of factory coatings that serve both decorative and protective purposes, producing consistent results with a range of aesthetic options to suit your project.
Fire Treatment
FRX fire retardant can be pressure-impregnated into ThermoWood® Pine under ISO-controlled conditions to meet national Building Regulations for Euroclass B or C compliance.
