Millworks source Thermowood from carefully selected Redwood, by leading Finnish sawmills. Natural, thermal modification enhances the wood’s natural attributes resulting in a desirable dark brown, which is incredibly stable and durable. Heated mechanical rollers are used to create this rustic and characterful finish. A twist on our traditional fine sawn surface texture which increases definition and adds texture to any project.
Durable finish – Millworks Mokuzai® products have been created to capture the beauty of this bespoke finish without compromising on longevity for modern living.
Long lasting colour – MillCoat® is applied using a controlled factory process to ensure even coverage and consistent distribution across each board. The semi-transparent stain provides rich colouring while allowing the timbers natural texture and grain pattern to remain visible.
Dimensional stability – Due to the thermal modification process, Thermowood offers impressive dimensional stability, extending the lifespan of MillCoat® factory coatings and reducing maintenance needs compared to other coated timbers.
