The Secret clip system is a precision-engineered solution for secret fix timber cladding and decking. It consists of grooved timber boards, black powder-coated aluminium rails and high-strength clips, and has been designed to deliver easy installation and long-lasting timber performance.

Durable materials

The secret clip system is engineered for longevity, featuring aluminium rails and pre-spaced fixed clips made from POM, a high-performance recyclable plastic known for its strength and durability. The 6060 aluminium alloy used for the rails has excellent properties for structural use and provides exceptional resistance to corrosion, allowing the system to be installed in exposed environments, including coastal areas.

Long-lasting timber

Timber boards are securely fastened to pre-spaced clips using a precision-shaped groove, ensuring a firm and reliable connection between the structure and the timber. Millworks Clip profiles are specifically designed to accommodate the natural movement of timber and the clip allows boards to expand and contract with seasonal changes while maintaining the necessary expansion gap. This avoids structural stress, warping and splitting preserving the integrity of both the timber and the overall installation.

Secret fixing

The secret clip system uses boards that have been profiled with precision-shaped grooves on the back face. By fastening boards from behind, the front of the board remains completely intact, free from screw holes and visible fixings, providing a clean appearance. This hidden fixing method is ideal for factory-coated timber as exposure to moisture ingress is reduced, extending the service life of the coating.

Aluminium rails come pre-fitted with precisely spaced clips, guaranteeing perfect alignment on every installation. Clip spacing is engineered based on timber species and profile design, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. This means no hassle, no guesswork, and no time-consuming onsite spacing—just a perfectly aligned finish, every time.

Faster installation

The secret clip system is designed to make installation faster and easier cutting installation time by up to 50% compared to traditional methods. A simple press secures the boards into place, and they can be just as easily unclipped using specially designed keys that slide between two boards. This innovative system allows everything to be re-positioned or replaced without damaging boards, clips, or rails.

Versatile

The secret clip system offers design flexibility, with fully customisable, made-to-measure specifications available on request. Boards can be arranged in various orientations, from striking angled designs to classic configurations. Compatible with a wide range of low-movement timber species and durable finishes, the system adapts seamlessly to different architectural styles and project requirements.

Sustainable

The clip is 100% recyclable, and the aluminium used in the rails consists of over 80% recycled content and is fully recyclable. Because it can be recycled repeatedly without loss of quality, recycled aluminium saves 95% of the energy and 70% of the water required to produce primary aluminium.

Circular system

The secret clip system allows for easy dismantling and reassembly, enabling damaged or end-of-life boards to be replaced without disrupting the entire structure. This not only extends the lifespan of the system but also reduces material waste, making it a responsible and environmentally friendly choice.

The secret clip system is a secret-fix solution suitable for both external and interior cladding. Installed onto walls, ceilings, or other flat surfaces, the system ensures a fast, precise installation with lasting durability. Once installed the boards are fully removable ideal for applications where access behind the cladding is required, for example for concealed wiring or suspended office ceilings.

The secret clip decking system is a height-adjustable, secret-fix solution designed for quick, precise installation across a wide range of ground types. With a vast range of accessories, the system provides a stable, easily levelled foundation, essential for the long-term performance of any deck. Unlike traditional timber subframes, this system is made from non-rotting, high-quality materials, making it not only perfect for garden decking but also ideally suited to exposed environments such as jetties, poolsides, roof terraces, and boardwalks. With easily removable boards for simplified maintenance, it provides longevity and performance.
