Production Assistant/Machine Operator

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual, with or without experience, to become an integral member of our production team, helping to maintain and improve standards as we grow. Our timber products are produced on Weinig CNC planing/moulding machines, re-saws and cross cuts and finished on automated painting/coating lines.

  • Monday – Friday
  • 42.5 hours per week
  • Salary from £22,500 per year

Main responsibilities:

To work as part of the production team helping set up machinery, process orders and undertake general yard duties as required. Professional training provided with scope to continue professional development, increased responsibilities and salary as additional skills are gained.

Accountabilities:

  • Assess quality of all goods being manufactured across multiple lines to ensure that we produce to high quality standard. Ability to recognise species grading rules and, where needed, identify and advise of issues accordingly.
  • Build productive and trusting relationships with the wider the team, offering collaboration and support.
  • Engage with management and team leaders to contribute new ideas to increase efficiency and recognise opportunities.

  • A practical mindset with the drive to learn new skills and develop knowledge for the company’s products.

Desirable experience (non-essential):

  • Woodwork machine/joinery
  • Production/manufacturing
  • Painting experience – industrial application (spray / vacuum lines)
  • Forklift license
